During the org fair, one of the most eye-catching tarps I
saw was the AIESEC tarp. I was attracted by the simplicity and creativity of the logo. I kept
staring at it throughout the opening activities and introduction. My friend and
I were talking about which orgs to join then she pointed out the AIESEC tarp
and she was surprised. She said that she wanted to join that org because she’s
heard about it. She knows that it’s a global org and it would be interesting to
become an exchange student. I got attracted to the things she said about AIESEC
so when it was time to sign up for orgs, we both went straight to the AIESEC
booth and signed up for it first. As weeks passed, I had already have two orgs (that
weren’t AIESEC) and was actually still attracted to more. I restricted myself
from joining too many so that I wouldn’t loose time for schoolwork. I decided
to join only one more org and I was tied up between AIESEC and another org.
Both seemed to demand so much, so it was a really tough decision. I received
texts from AIESEC about the interview that I had to take in order to make it in
and yet heard no updates from the other org that I also wanted to join in. Many of my
friends wanted to join AIESEC and so I thought it would be fun to be with them
in a very active org. I took my interview. I volunteered to be one of the first
(partly because I just wanted to get it over with because it was lunch time and
I was hungry) and I was confident because I looked at it as just a getting to
know conversation and I enjoyed speaking a lot. My closest friend texted me
days after the interview saying she received a text indicating that she passed
the interview and I panicked because I did not receive any text from AIESEC yet.
I then eventually received it the following day and told my friend about it. We
exchanged ideas on how it may be like in AIESEC and both became convinced to
stay to enrich ourselves with experience and opportunities.
